MENOMONIE, WI (WTAQ) – Police in Menomonie are investigating an incident in which a drunk driver allegedly struck two police officers on bicycles, and then fled the scene.

DALLAS — A man is dead after being hit and killed by a car in Southeast Dallas, while the driver who hit him is in police custody.
Police say Avery Gardner, 26, was speeding along Buckner Boulevard around 10:15 p.m. Thursday, trying to race another car. The victim, a black 54-year-old male, stepped off the curb and was hit by Gardner.
The victim died at the scene, police said. Gardner fled, but police caught up with him at a nearby DART station.

Houston police say the driver went to the female passenger’s home. The passenger then told her mom what happened, and the mother took both her daughter and the driver back to the scene.

PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla.- An 88-year-old woman involved in a hit-and-run crash that sent a teen to the hospital Friday morning faces charges for leaving the scene.

A Wichita man convicted of killing a 34-year-old woman while fleeing police last fall has been sentenced to life in prison plus 89 months, according to the Sedgwick County District Attorney’s Office.

COLUMBUS, Ohio – A Perry County judge who made a name for himself warning young people of the dangers of drinking and driving has found himself under arrest, charged with driving drunk and leaving the scene of a crash.

The Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office has announced an arrest after a hit-and-run killed a Mantua man Sunday evening.
Investigators charged Brian Kowasa, 24, of Runnemede, with leaving the scene of a fatal accident. Kowasa, accompanied by his father, surrendered himself to Deptford police early Monday morning.
Kowasa was driving a Dodge pickup truck in the northbound lane of Route 45 in Deptford at about 7:52 p.m. when he struck 52-year-old Richard D. McClelland of Mantua, authorities said. McClelland was pronounced dead at Inspira Medical Center in Woodbury shortly afterward.

FULTON, N.Y. — Police let the man who killed a 4-year-old girl slip through their grasp.
Carolee Ashby was hit by a car on Halloween night 1968 while crossing the street with her older sister in the city of Fulton and thrown 133 feet. The driver never stopped.
He wouldn’t be caught for 44 years. In April 2013, the Fulton Police Department announced that it had found the person responsible: Douglas Parkhurst, 62 and still living in Oswego County. The expiration of the statute of limitations meant he could never be charged.
Parkhurst’s confession provided a startling resolution to a mystery that for decades had crushed a family, haunted police and left a community to wonder who among them was guilty.

St. Lawrence County Court Judge Jerome J. Richards sentenced Devin B. Ferguson-Brenno, 27, of 209 Gilbert St., to 2 1/3 to 7 years in state prison for a second-degree vehicular manslaughter conviction.

Wilmar Caban, 30, of Kapaa, was arrested on suspicion of second-degree negligent injury and accidents involving substantial injury. He has since been released pending investigation.
According to police, a 75-year-old Kapaa woman was attempting to cross the highway near Honsador Lumber at around 7:40 p.m. when she was struck by an older model Honda Civic in the south-bound lane.

VINELAND – Police said they have located the vehicle they believe was involved in the hit-and-run crash that claimed the life of a 49-year-old business owner on Aug. 10.

SAN ANTONIO – It’s been one year without justice — a father hit and killed by a driver who didn’t bother to stop and help. Monday night, his family and friends gathered to pay tribute to the man taken from them. They hope his killer will come forward.
For Genevieve Gutierrez, the loss of her brother, 20-year-old Paul Michael Hernandez, is difficult. He was killed by a hit-and-run driver a year ago, and police have yet to find or arrest that person.
“It’s been a year already, so that they can have some kind of feel sorry I guess, and turn themselves in because we do want justice for my brother,” said Gutierrez.
